Mechanical override brakes are an effective, easy to use, easy to install braking system that is widely used around the world.

Euro Brake trailer brakes can be towed by any suitable towing vehicle with no need for electronic pairing or adjustments between loads, this makes them the perfect choice for any fleet manager, equipment hire business or home users with multiple vehicles.

Approved for use in Australia

Since the changes to the transport law in 2020 we've finally been able to bring one of the most popular braking systems in the world to Australia.

Our mechanical override braking systems meets all ADR, Australian Design Rules, and ROVER standards.

User Benefits

Mechanical override brakes deliver an exceptional towing experience.

Strong, smooth proportional braking with no delay

Can be used by any suitable tow vehicle - does not have to be paired with a vehicle

No need to tune the brakes between loading and unloading

Automatic brake release for reversing - no need to manually set the trailer to reverse mode

A no worry, hook up and go towing experience

Easy Hub bearings, brings car bearing technology to your trailer removing the need for messy bearing maintenance.

European design and manufacture gives reliable parts you can trust in harsh environmets.

The coupling

The coupling is an all in one unit that contains the tow head, handbrake and emergency breakaway braking system.

The machined ball socket in the tow head gives a tight fit that eliminates any vibration or rattle leading to a long usage lifespan.
The coupling system activates the brakes mechanically with no electrical input required.

As the tow vehicle slows and the trailer pushes against the tow ball the coupling system applies an immediate and smooth pressure that activates the brakes proportionally. The harder the vehicle brakes the harder the brakes are applied on the trailer. This gives an exceptional braking experience.

Brake connections

A brake rod runs from the coupling to a spreader bar system. This system evenly distributes the applied force from the brake rod to brake cables. The brake cables connect to the braked hubs. The spreader bar system ensures even braking is applied to each hub regardless of any suspension activity.

Braked hubs

Each hub is braked via drum brake activated by a brake cable. Within the hub a clever lever system that ensures that the brakes are released when the trailer is reversing. This provides a seamless towing experience and removes any need to the vehicle operator to exit the vehicle and adjust the trailer before towing.

The brake shoes within the drum brakes provide a wide braking surface that provide a strong and reliable braking effect with less heat generation than other systems. The braked hubs are easy to set up and adjust during installation or maintenance.

Bearings

Each hub comes with EasyHub sealed for life bearings, meaning your bearings are protected from dust and other contaminates. This is car technology brought to trailers. There is no need for greasing or maintenance. It’s recommended that EasyHub bearings are replaced at least every 100,000km.
